Old seal replacement

If the door has an old seal, unscrew it, and take it off. Make sure the width of the new door seal matches the width of the under door weather strip by measuring both. If the door did not come with a seal and you need to create a cut in it, measure how much you need to remove, mark the cut with a straightedge, and then use a circular saw to remove the material. Sand the bottom edge smooth if you do not have to cut the door down to size.

  • Place the seal on the door strip bottom with the ornamental side facing outward, then give it a few gentle taps with a hammer to ensure its installed securely. 
  • Lift the door back onto the hinges, insert new pins, and secure the sweep by driving one of the supplied screws through each hole and into the door.
